Goods Collection Campaign

You can collect food, toys, books or stationery at your school, workplace or in your neighbourhood. We plan campaigns together, with the association's knowledge and approval, and run the process with you from beginning to end.

What can be collected?

Food
We collect unopened dry food that is not close to its expiry date: pulses, pasta, tinned food, tea and baby food. Check with us first for items close to their date.
Toys
We accept toys that are clean, undamaged and complete; these go on to meet children at the Toy Library.
Books
We take books that are readable, untorn and unmarked; children's books and course material are especially useful to us.
Stationery
We collect unused school supplies such as notebooks, pens, paints and bags; demand peaks at the start of term.

What to watch out for

  • We do not collect food in opened packaging or past its expiry date.
  • Used underwear and personal care products are not accepted.
  • Broken or incomplete toys have to be set aside during sorting.
  • Always check with us in advance about items that need refrigeration.

How it works

A campaign in six steps

We plan the campaign together: you decide the scope, the timing and the announcement materials with the association. The order below works for most school and office campaigns.

  1. Get in touch with us

Every campaign run in the name of Volunteer Movement begins with the association's approval. Write to us about where, when and with whom you want to collect, and we will look at the campaign together.

  2. Let's set the scope together

We decide together what will be collected, looking at the needs of that period. Campaigns focused on a single category work better; mixed collections increase the sorting burden.

  3. Let's fix the timing and the collection point

We set the period together; a short calendar with a clear end date collects more than an open-ended campaign. We choose one point everyone passes: a school entrance, an office kitchen or a building management room.

  4. Let us prepare the announcement materials

The association prepares the poster and the announcement text; the association's name and logo are used only with these materials. Stating what is being collected, the closing date and the collection point in one sentence increases participation.

  5. Hand the goods over to the association

When the campaign ends you hand the collected goods over to the association. You can bring them to the delivery point we agreed, or arrange a suitable day for us to collect them.

  6. Let's share the result together

We tell you who the goods reached. We announce the campaign on our website and our social media accounts.

Who do we run them with?

Schools

Run through collections between classes, club projects and parent participation.

Companies

In-office campaigns tied into corporate social responsibility programmes.

Housing complexes and apartment buildings

Neighbours bring their donations together at a single point.

Associations and clubs

Campaigns open to members, with a set duration.

If you are curious how it looks, you can read about the campaign the students of TED Bursa College ran on Giving Tuesday in our news (in Turkish).

Let's plan your campaign together

Write to us about where and when you want to collect; we will look at the campaign and share the current needs list, the announcement materials and the delivery plan with you.
